Building Accommodations:
The Spring Street entry is wheel chair accessible. The Main Street entry is not wheel chair accessible.
All individuals seeking entrance to the facility must present a valid, government issued, ID such as a drivers licence or state ID and pass through security screening which in most circumstances includes a metal detector. However individuals with pacemakers or cochlear implants may request screening via a hand held wand upon presenting the Court Security Officers with a letter which identifies the condition from the doctor who preformed the implant.
All public restrooms are wheel chair accessible.
A public telephone device for the deaf (TTY) is available off of the Spring Street Lobby at the south end.
Smoke detectors and fire alarm systems are equipped with strobe lights.
Elevator cabs are equipped with braille signage and emergency call features accommodate those with seeing and hearing impairment.
Courtroom Accommodations:
The Spring Street Courthouse is a 1938 art Deco building on the National Register of Historic Places. Given the age of the facility and this historical designation, none of the courtrooms meet current accessibility standards. If you have accessibility needs, please contact the courtroom deputy handling your case and request the proceeding be transferred to a fully accessible courtroom in the Roybal building, two blocks away.
Courtrooms are equipped with infrared transmission for those with hearing disabilities. Headsets are available upon request from the courtroom deputy. Anyone anticipating the need to use hearing assisted devices is requested to notify the Courtroom Deputy Clerk within 48 hours prior to the scheduled hearing.

The Roybal courthouse was constructed in 1991. Accordingly, the original courtrooms predate current accessibility standards. The original courtrooms are 650, 680, 740, 750, 780, 790, 840, 850, 880, and 890. In 1999 additional courtrooms were constructed which meet accessibility standards. These courtrooms are 540, 550, 580, 590, 640, 690, as well as the arraignment room, room number 341. If you have accessibility needs and have a matter scheduled to occur in one of the original courtrooms, please contact the courtroom deputy handling your case and request the proceeding be transferred to a fully accessible courtroom in the Roybal building.
