  1. Civil motions are heard on: Mondays Time: 10:00 a.m.
    Criminal motions are heard on: contact court clerk.
    It is not necessary to clear a motion date with the court clerk prior to filing the motion.

  2. Discovery motions are to be calendared before the district judge if the case does not have a blanket referral for discovery.

  4. Mandatory chambers copies are not desired, except as ordered, as to documents filed traditionally over the intake counter. Mandatory chambers copies are required for documents filed electronically and shall be delivered to the courtesy copy drop box located outside of the Court Clerk's office, Room 181L at the Roybal Terrace Clerk's Office, within 24 hours after e-filing.

  5. Procedures for filing an ex parte application: Refer to the Local Rules and Federal Rules; the clerk will notify the parties if a hearing will be necessary.


  6. To request a continuance of any scheduled court proceeding: Refer to the Local Rules and Federal Rules.


  7. Counsel are not allowed to contact the judge's law clerk or secretary.
