Case assignments are generally distributed among CJA Trial Attorney Panel members by means of the duty day schedule.  For certain large cases, however, in which the arrest of eight or more defendants is expected to occur on the same day, a special "takedown" procedure is followed.  This procedure is set forth in the attached Memo re Assignment of Large Takedowns [1].
