David T. Bristow was appointed as a United States Magistrate Judge in 2009. Prior to his appointment, he practiced both civil and criminal litigation. From 2003 until his appointment to the bench, he was a shareholder and President of the Executive Committee at the civil litigation firm of Reid & Hellyer, where his practice included the areas of contract, corporate, employment, and real property law. Prior to entering private practice, he served as a Deputy Public Defender for San Bernardino County from 1996 to 1997, and as a Deputy District Attorney for San Bernardino County from 1994 to 1996.
Judge Bristow received his undergraduate degree from California State University, San Bernardino, and his law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
