If you are instructed to report for jury service, you are entitled to a $50.00 attendance fee for each day of attendance and 67 cents per mile, round trip, even if you take public transportation. If you live 80 miles or more (one-way) from the courthouse, read "Subsistence Information."

Federal law provides that jurors are to be paid an allowance for traveling to and from their place of service. Payment is based on the actual mileage necessarily traveled to and from the juror's residence by the shortest practical route in going to and returning from the place of service. See 28 U.S.C. § 1871(c)(1). When reporting to the courthouse to begin their service, jurors should thus be prepared to provide the actual mileage traveled round-trip between their residence and the courthouse.

You are paid weekly.

Jurors who report erroneously are not entitled to any compensation.
