Effective July 1, 2016, the Honorable George H. King, having served as Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California since September 14, 2012, has ended his tenure as Chief Judge and again takes up service as an active District Judge. The Honorable Virginia A. Phillips succeeds Judge King as Chief Judge of the Central District.
