INACTIVE/RETIRED U.S. District Judges
For cases assigned to a judge who is no longer active or has retired from the Court, filers should continue to file all documents using the inactive or retired judge's initials.
Any hearing date should be set pursuant to established procedures and rules governing motion hearings and the required notice period.
Required proposed orders in MS Word (.doc/.docx) or WordPerfect (.wpd) format should be submitted using the "Proposed Orders to Chambers and Clerk's Office" feature under the Utilities menu in CM/ECF. Select "Inactive/Retired District Judges" as the Judge.
Said filings with be routed appropriately and may or may not result in the reassignment of a case to another judge.
