ORDER OF THE CHIEF JUDGE ​

NO. 13-113

     The Court has the constitutional and statutory duty to exercise Article III judicial power, even during the current government shutdown.  Chambers staff and all the officers and employees of the Court provide the judges with the necessary support on which the judges rely to perform functions essential to the resolution of cases pursuant to the Court’s judicial power.  Accordingly, the Court hereby designates all such functions as essential.  All chambers and clerk’s office staff are directed to report to work during their regularly scheduled hours.  Any employee who is not at work is furloughed for the duration of his/her absence.The incurrence of travel and other expenses shall be limited to those necessary to support the court’s operation.

     This order shall remain in effect until further order of the Court.
